The environmentally-conscious can now purchase a home to match their outlook in life at the Amarin Wickham in Ampang Hilir, that has incorporated elements of sustainable living throughout the property that adds comfort for the resident.

"Starting from the roof, we have installed solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system aimed at reducing energy consumption and supplements needed resources to maintain and run common areas such as cleaning, watering the plants and even supplementing the water features," Amarin Wickham Sdn Bhd director Andrew Hah said.

Close attention has also been paid to the building's architecture that includes an outer envelope of slated glass walls at the main block.

"This provides good ventilation while preventing direct sunlight from entering the units. There is also an air well down the centre of each stack of units at the main block," Hah said, adding that they tried to use recyclable materials as much as possible.

He also said that the property has received its BCA Green Mark Gold (Provisional) certification from the Singapore Building and Construction Authority in recognition of its outstanding environmental practices and design.

Amarin Wickham is also an inaugural recipient of the Suria 1000 for Developers grant under the auspices of Pusat Tenaga Malaysia to promote the use of photo-voltaic cells.

The 0.4ha freehold land will be developed into one main block consisting of 18 units and another block consisting of three premier units with a slightly different design to better match its immediate surroundings.

"We have seven each of duplex units, triplex units and penthouses. These units are family-oriented and one of the highlights of the penthouses is its rooftop pool whereas the triplex has its own jacuzzi," he said.

The units that start from 3,270sq.ft. in size and cost RM2.998mil onwards will be complemented by facilities including a common swimming pool, children's playground and gym.

All units come with a 4+1 bedroom design except the 3+1 internediate and corner triplex and the 5+1 premier penthouse designs.

Hah said the finishing provided for the units included solid timber strips, marble and stone tiles while most of the ceilings were finished in fibrous plaster and cement board ceilings.

Other environment-friendly features are timber (for the sundeck internal flooring) sourced from sustainable forests and using locally manufactured or available recyclable products as much as possible.

One of the key attractions of the property is its close proximity to the city and the shopping and entertainment belt stretching from KLCC to Bukit Bintang, recreational facilities such as the Royal Selangor Golf Club, Raintree Club, Selangor Polo and Riding Club and international schools.

"We expect Amarin Wickham to be completed by the end of next year," Hah said.
